The U-boat bunker “Hornisse” (“Hornet”), a WWII-relic, was built as from 1939 and is situated in the Bremen Harbour Area, Germany. It was planned as a reparation and construction dock for the German submarine weapon (AG Weser). More than 1.200 forced labourers, most of them from the concentration camp Neuengamme, were constrained by the Nazis to work in the construction area to erect “Hornisse”. Several hundreds of them did not survive and died by exhaustion, hunger, cold and epidemic plagues.
The bunker remained unfinished; in the 60s an office-building was structured just on the concrete ceiling of “Hornisse”.
Very special thanks to my brilliant model
